WHAT IS A CLEANSING BALM AND WHEN SHOULD I USE IT?

Cleansing balms are cleansers that use oils and emollients to remove dirt, makeup, and buildup from the day. They’re great for cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural oils. Our makeup cleansing balm is perfect for the cleansing stage in your skincare routine and should be done before any other skincare steps.

DO I NEED TO DOUBLE CLEANSE?

Some people, particularly those who wear waterproof and long-wearing makeup, choose to double-cleanse to remove makeup and impurities. The first wash is typically with an oil-based cleanser, followed by a water-based cleanser. Cleansing Balm is an ideal solution as the first cleansing step because it helps to remove oil-based impurities, including makeup, sunscreen, sebum, and pollution. By getting rid of the oily impurities first, the second, water-based cleanser can better work its way into the skin, giving you a fuller cleanse overall.

HOW DOES CLEANSING BALM DIFFER FROM MAKEUP WIPES OR MAKEUP REMOVER?

Unlike makeup wipes or removers, Cleansing Balm is gentle on the skin and does not require harsh scrubbing. Our cleansing balm is great for adding additional hydration in your cleansing routine.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLEANSING BALMS AND CLEANSING OILS?

Both cleansing balms and oils are used to remove makeup and other impurities from the face, but balms are solid at room temperature and will dissolve onto your face. Oils are naturally liquid. One is not naturally better, but if you prefer a solid texture, then the cleansing balm is the one for you! Cleansing balms are great for travel as well.
